CAMILLE CLAUDEL
Series of watercolor paintings inspired by the work and life of French sculptor Camille Claudel, muse of Auguste Rodin and one of the greatest exponents of 19th century sculpture.
The work was developed from episodes of Camille's life, as well as some of her personality traits such as passion for life, painful waiting, loneliness and the psychic illness detected at the time.
A woman ahead of her time, Camille faced the price for her emancipation and for her passion for the arts, in a time admittedly of male dominance.
This series of works is also an ode to all women who fought and are still fighting for equal opportunities and gender.

"In silence, I began to consider the folly of men who, neglecting the noblest part of themselves, disperse themselves in vain spectacles and useless speculations, seeking abroad what they could find within themselves.
I thought how great would be the nobility of our soul if it, instead of degenerating voluntarily by moving away from its origin, did not convert what God gave it to its honor."
Francis Petraca (1304 - 1373)
